Hunger Games for Hunger (HGH) is an event created and organized by Concord High students and supported by the Concord community. Based loosely off Susan Collins’ The Hunger Games, twelve selected tributes safely ‘battled’ with foam weapons in a marked-off ‘arena’ in the woods. The day unfolded until one tribute remained. With the goal of raising money for the Friendly Kitchen, HGH sold tickets to those who wished to participate in the games. Tributes were then invited to raise money which was converted into ‘sponsor points’. These points allowed tributes to receive food, weapons, and gear during the games. Money was also raised the day of, as friends and family gathered to support the event and their favorite tribute. HGH is honored to help the Friendly Kitchen with their mission of feeding Concord. The games were organized by Della Dolcino, Skye Reese, Maggie Lee, and Joe Ossoff. In total, the kids raised over $800 for the Friendly Kitchen!

We sent the Concord Regional Technical Center and its students 55 frozen turkeys we'd received through various donations, and they did the hard work of cooking them and sending them back to us, to feed our guests. Thank you so much, you helped us more than you know!
